A community health expo is scheduled for Saturday March 21 2020, hosted from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the SoNo Collection, located at 100 N Water Street, Norwalk, CT. This will be one of many annual Community Health Events hosted by the Foundation of Hope throughout Connecticut during the course of 2020.
The Foundation of Hope provides solutions to many overwhelming issues for
our community members who are underserved, bringing together charitable organizations and local volunteers to offer many different services to communities in Connecticut. The Foundation provides its programs at no cost, and is looking for official corporate sponsors to contribute their services to the upcoming 2020 health fairs. The health fair provides thousands of dollars worth of health care services not regularly accessible to the community free of charge.
This health fair, coordinating the services of local health care providers, charities, businesses, and a pool of dedicated individual volunteers, serves approximately 2,000 individuals and 800 families annually. Local doctors, nurses and health practitioners come together to administer a multitude of important preventative tests including but not limited to, vein care services, free flu vaccines (If you have insurance or Medicare please bring your card with you so that the free flu vaccines can be used for those who are uninsured), eye exams, dental and podiatry exams, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, body fat analysis pulmonary function tests, a large kidney screening exhibit, and confidential HIV testing. Nurses will also educate on breast and testicular self-exams, Salsa, Zumba, and Aerobic demonstrations and performance.
The health fair also caters to families, by providing fun family friendly activities to educate parents in caring for their children’s health, diet and dental hygiene. This event, with its wealth of services provided, combined with free food, prizes and raffles, aims to reach out to as many members of the local community as possible.
This is a completely unfunded event that brings thousands of dollars worth of free health care to those in need. This event is annually sponsored by local organizations and corporations passionate about serving and educating the community.
About Foundation of Hope:
The Foundation of Hope is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to campaigning for community members spanning numerous Connecticut locales. The Foundation is driven by the idea that a true community is not just about being geographically close to someone or part of the same social web network. Rather, community depends on its members feeling connected to one another and responsible for what happens to their fellows. Humanity is the ultimate community, and everyone plays a crucial role.
The foundation began as an effort to create environments within local communities that inspire hope for those who are hopeless. This non-profit organization is dedicated to collaborating with charitable organizations to provide solutions to social issues, disaster relief, medical assistance and humanitarian aid with particular attention to children and education. All programming comes at no cost.
In order to continue and expand its programming offerings, the Foundation is requesting the support of community stakeholders, particularly local companies to become official corporate sponsors. These sponsors will receive promotion through the Foundation (for details, please see contact information provided below), as thanks for their support for the continuation and expansion of the foundation’s free educational programming.
During this event, Foundation of Hope seek to find ways to collaborate and cooperate with the local community and find ways to serve the community more effectively and efficiently. If your company is interested in being an official sponsor, please call Foundation of Hope’s Marketing Director Mariam Gonzales at 862.373.8371.
