In a continuous effort to fight the barriers of accessing quality health care, we have partnered with local hospitals, clinics, charitable organizations and healthcare providers to bring community members a culturally tailored event. There will be free medical screening, testing, engaging activities and information provided by local health professionals, businesses, and agencies. All are welcome and translation assistance will be provided in Albanian, Creole, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The purpose of our events are to network and share resources available to the community, announce initiatives, create relationships, find collaborators and seek cooperation and coordination on various initiatives and programs. With the help of our sponsors we brings hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of free health care and social services to about four thousand participants per event annually. The foundation is always seeking to serve the community more effectively.
We provide expensive testing not regularly accessible to the community free of charge. Local doctors, nurses, therapist and health practitioners come together to administer a multitude of important preventative tests including but not limited to, vein care services, flu vaccines, eye exams, dental and podiatry exams, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, body fat analysis pulmonary function tests, a large kidney screening exhibit, liver screening exhibit, confidential HIV testing, nurses will also educate on breast and testicular self-exams. We will have Fitness, Salsa and Zumba demos! There will be dance demonstrations, and performances.
This event is annually sponsored by local organizations and corporations passionate about serving and educating the community. Fun family friendly activities are also held to educate parents in caring for their children’s health, diet and dental hygiene.
We have many upcoming all volunteer fairs in various cities. We are always looking for volunteers to help distribute flyers in the community to advertise the date and time of our events. Help is also needed the day of the health fair with registrations as well as interpreting for non-English speakers of Albanian, Creole, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Gujrati, and Hindi are especially needed. All are invited to share ideas, services and helpful information.
